About half of the attacks that were recorded in the year 2015 were mostly aimed at small scale organizations. This is obvious as hackers find less or no boundaries in stealing the data of such companies as these workstations are either unaware of what’s around them or are simply do not care. But when the same companies grow, prosper and become a solid company, they are bound to surround themselves with needed data security and protection. A few tips to keep your website data safe are as follows:
Since most of the business today is being done online, it is hard for anyone to stay safe nowadays. Be it online delivery, online transaction, transfer of funds, etc. all types of activities no matter how much amount of money is involved is always a threat.
Day in day out, intruders or snoopers find ways to penetrate through your stuff and get away with whatever they find useful for themselves. For example, your name, address, contact number etc. aren’t really confidential right? But to them, it could be a way of hacking and retrieving your account by using all the necessary information. That’s why they say not to add everyone on your social media account as you never know what’s on the other side on the internet.
Keep your eyes open:
Threats to a business exist in multiple forms such as unauthorized access to mobile devices, computers, theft, remote attacks, data being helped by third-party services etc. you must keep an eye on everyone you’re dealing with and eradicate anything that seems suspicious. Even your ISP can sometimes do wonders that you could not even think of. Since they know what you’re accessing, be sure to have good relations with them to avoid any unwanted activity.

Companies whether big or small are meant to have a systematic approach to security. An effective plan is essential that lets the organization review, check, and restore balance to any loopholes if found. It helps them identify where they have some room for improvement and exactly where they are vulnerable to attacks. If you do the preparations earlier, you would have to work less hard in the future.
Detect prevent, take action:
Once you’ve set the plan, then comes the step of implementing procedures to detect, prevent and act against anything that harms your data. For instance, installing security software on each system in your office, updating the browsers to avoid glitches, prevention of spam email use that leads to auto malware installation, encryption data to stay one step ahead always and more. Know that when your data is encrypted, it is pretty much in an unreadable state even for you.
Physical threats:
Don’t think if you have set the trap for digital hackers, that is enough. A hacker finds convenience in accessing your data online but that doesn’t mean you are no longer in need of physical protection. You must ensure your IT department is the only team that has access to the control room or server access that could actually mean a disaster is a newbie gets in and gets out with all your confidential stuff.
